Welcome to Our New General Manager, John Lewis

The Nee Tahi Buhn Indian Band Council is pleased to announce that a new General Manager has been hired and will begin on Monday, December 15, 2025.

John is an experienced Indigenous leader from the Gitxaala Nation on North Coast of BC. He brings a strong cultural and traditional background and more than 25 years of senior executive, operational, and governance experience working with multiple First Nations governments, tribal organizations, and community administrations across British Columbia. His extensive leadership background includes roles in Nation administration, operations management, governance development, treaty negotiations, economic development, and community programming.

Throughout his career, John has demonstrated exceptional strengths in funding acquisition, financial oversight, project management, program development, policy creation, and staff leadership. He has successfully written, supported, or mentored staff to access several million dollars in funding for Nations, contributing to major initiatives such as housing, infrastructure development, community services, land management, and economic development projects.

Chief & Council are very excited to welcome John to the Nee Tahi Buhn administration. His strong funding, financial, programming, and leadership skills, along with his deep experience working with a variety of First Nations, will greatly support the Band’s ongoing growth, stability, and vision for the future.
